RuBAN (the new name for EEMLive) is a simple, graphical, web based front end for configuring, distributing and monitoring Cisco EEM on an ongoing basis thus opening up the technology to a much wider audience than previously possible. RuBAN will allow network owners to easily integrate technologies such as SnmP, Netflow, IP/SLA, PfR etc and execute custom commands and actions based on their outputs. It effectively gives the customer the ability to create any feature they can imagine and implement it within minutes.

Some sample uses of RuBAN:

REDUCE NETWORK DOWNTIME.

There are significant costs tied to network downtime including disgruntled or lost customers, reduced worker productivity and reduced revenues. Deploying RuBAN significantly reduces this downtime by using built in proactive detection and troubleshooting mechanisms to ensure maximum network availability.

REDUCE MEAN TIME TO REPAIR (MTTR).
Repairing a network issue is a costly event often requiring high level engineers on site, particularly in the diagnosis phase which typically accounts for 80% of MTTR. RuBAN provides extensive diagnosis and troubleshooting information meaning issues can be diagnosed almost immediately and actions automatically taken to bring the network back on line faster.

LOWER TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP
On-going network operations and maintenance charges can often be as high as the initial capital expenditure. RuBAN can significantly decrease this yearly TCO by correctly maintaining standard network operations and automating business specific network operations.

IMPROVED NETWORK SECURITY
A virus on your network, privacy issues, network hacking cause untold financial and business costs. RuBAN ensures the network is enabled to prevent any such security breaches.

POWER CONSUMPTION CONTROL
RuBAN can be configured to automatically power down Power over Ethernet (PoE) network devices such as IP phones outside office hours or in periods of low use patterns resulting in substantial financial and carbon savings.

IT COMPLIANCE
Regulatory compliance in the IT space be it for financial or more business specific purposes (PCI, FDA, SOX compliance etc) is a rapidly growing area of IT spend. EEM’s ability to alert based on unknown devices/ users entering the network domain and monitoring of internal changes in the network structure is critical in ensuring network compliance.
